This section of our website is designed to help first-year students hit the ground running at BCC. You’ll find information and tips on what to do before, during and after your first day of classes, as well as links to resources you’ll use during your entire BCC journey.

Make OneStop your First Stop
OneStop Student Services (located on our Main Campus on the first floor of Building A) is your go-to place for questions about applications, programs, financial aid, continuing education, course registration, library and tutoring resources, accessibility, scholarships, graduation, career services, and so much more. If you’re lost or unsure of where to find the information you need, OneStop can help. Just stop in and ask. The OneStop team is at your service on day one and always.
Meet your Success Team
Get ready to succeed! Every BCC student has a Success Team that includes a Success Coach and Faculty Advisor assigned according to your program of study.
Your Success Coach will:
- Host your first advising meeting (in person or online) and be available to you whenever needed
- Help you register for your first semester of classes
- Connect you with helpful academic and campus resources
- Help you navigate any challenges that may arise
- Assist with schedule or program changes
- Check in with you to be sure all is well
- Visit us on Main Campus on the first floor of Building A, call (910) 755-7320 or email us at [email protected] to make your first appointment
Your Faculty Advisor will:
- Help you develop an academic plan that matches your interests
- Assist in selecting and registering you for courses beyond the first semester
- Communicate curriculum requirements and academic policies and procedures
- Monitor your academic progress
- Inform and advise you about degree and university transfer options
- Be available during office hours and by appointment
Student Portal
The Student Portal is your online information hub. It contains links to important resources and tools that you will use daily. Be sure to bookmark this page on your web browser. It will be a favorite, for sure! Certain apps require you to log in with student email and password. The mail you received about your acceptance to BCC contains your Student ID# and instructions on how to set up your email and password.
