• Access to all materials on the first day of class (classes begin August 17, 2026)
• No standing in line—digital content delivered through Moodle

Book Smart is simple and easy.

• Printed textbooks will be available for pick up at the Campus Bookstore prior to the first day of classes.
• You will be automatically enrolled in Book Smart when you register for classes. Course materials will be automatically ordered, eliminating the need for you to provide your class schedule.
• You will receive a message in your BCC email account with information on how and when to access your new Book Smart digital bookshelf.
• Digital materials will be available on your digital bookshelf when you gain access to your classes.

For a flat-rate price (that will reduce your course materials costs by up to 60%), Book Smart provides:

• Course materials, including:
  • eBooks and digital course content
  • Printed lab manuals, workbooks, and physical textbooks (if applicable)
• Access to built-in tools for digital content, including highlighting, note sharing, and flashcards

The only things not included are course kits, uniforms and other materials that your instructor lists as optional. Those may be purchased separately from the Campus Bookstore.

If you add a class, your new materials will appear in your digital bookshelf within 24 hours.

If you drop a class, access to digital materials will be automatically disabled. Simply return any physical/printed items to the Campus Bookstore for a refund (provided you drop the class prior to the deadline). You will receive instructions and any updates via your BCC email account.

You may opt out of the Book Smart program each semester with no penalty. Just remember that if you opt out, you are responsible for purchasing your own required course materials. The store will have materials available for purchase directly. You will receive instructions on how and by when you need to opt out via your BCC email.

• Q1. What happens to the course materials after the semester ends?
  While timing varies slightly by publisher, digital materials are generally yours for 180 days. That gets you through the semester with plenty of time to spare. If your course requires physical/printed textbooks, those are yours to keep.
  
• Q2. How will I know when my materials are ready?
  You will receive a notification in your BCC email account when your materials are ready.
  
• Q3. Can I opt out of Book Smart?
  Yes. While you are automatically enrolled upon registration, you can opt out of the program on a per-semester basis. There will be no penalty fees as long as you opt out by the deadline provided. Watch your BCC email for information on how and by when to opt out.

• Q4. What is the flat rate price?
  The flat rate prices vary by program and are as follows:
  General Curriculum – $33.50 per credit hour
  Nursing – $53.00 per credit hour
  BLET – $15.00 per credit hour.
  These prices reflect up to a 60% savings over previous semesters.
  
• Q5. Are recommended or optional materials included in the flat rate price?
  No. Those materials, as well as course kits and uniforms (if applicable) may be purchased separately in the Campus Bookstore.
  
• Q6. Will Early College High School (ECHS) students be participating in Book Smart?
  No. ECHS students will pick up course materials from Mr. Tantillo.
  
• Q7. Can physical materials be shipped to me?
