The Brunswick Community College (BCC) Dolphins Men’s Basketball team had plenty to celebrate this weekend. Not only did they finish the regular season with a historic undefeated home record of 17-0, but they also honored their graduating sophomores in a heartfelt send-off. And just when things couldn’t get any better, longtime supporters Joe and Moe Stanley delivered the ultimate game-winning assist — a $72,000 donation to The Foundation of BCC in support of the team.

The Stanley brothers, lifelong Brunswick County residents, took center court to surprise the team with their generous gift, which was accepted by BCC President Dr. Gene Smith and Foundation Executive Director Teresa Nelson. The donation will help strengthen the Men’s Basketball program, ensuring continued opportunities for student-athletes.

Joe and Moe, who grew up in Brunswick County playing basketball themselves, have always been passionate about supporting local athletics. Their love for the game and the community inspired them to lead an annual fundraising effort, rallying friends, family, and fellow fans to contribute to the cause.

Owners of Joe and Moe’s Automotive in Shallotte, NC, the brothers had early careers in banking and education before launching their business. When they’re not running their shop, they’re often found cheering on the Dolphins from the sidelines or the stands.

With this incredible support behind them, the 26-4 Dolphins now set their sights on the Region 10-D1/Atlantic District Tournament. As the number one seed, they advance directly to the semifinals on Friday at 2 PM at Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory, NC.

The BCC Dolphins—and the entire college community—extend their deepest gratitude to Joe, Moe, and everyone who contributed to this monumental gift. Their generosity is helping shape the future of BCC Basketball, and their legacy of giving will inspire athletes for years to come.
