We are thrilled to announce a generous donation from the State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) Foundation in support of student success. In a ceremony attended by BCC faculty, staff, and leadership, SECU Foundation representatives presented two $5,000 scholarships to students Lindsey Case and Ashley Edge as part of the SECU Foundation’s “People Helping People” Scholarship Program.

The “People Helping People” scholarships provide crucial financial assistance to students in the North Carolina Community College System, helping them achieve their academic goals.

In addition to these scholarships, the SECU Foundation further demonstrated its commitment to education by awarding The Foundation of BCC $18,000 for the Bridge to Career Scholarship Program. This funding supports students pursuing short-term workforce training programs that lead to career certifications and employment opportunities.

Dr. Gene Smith, BCC President, and Teresa Nelson, Executive Director of The Foundation of BCC, accepted the check on behalf of the College.

To learn more about these and other scholarship opportunities, contact BCC Financial Aid at (910) 755-7320 or [email protected]. For additional information about The Foundation of BCC, contact Teresa Nelson at (910) 755-6530.
