University Transfer Programs
Through participation with various public and private 4 year institutions, many Associate in Applied – Science courses and credentials are transferrable to higher education institutions. For UNC institutions, these agreements do not necessarily guarantee student acceptance into a particular Bachelor’s program, but ensures that all Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA), Independent Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (ICAA), or Universal General Education Transfer Component (UGETC) courses transfer to a UNC 4 year system institution provided the student earns a “C” or better in the course. In – addition, Bilateral Agreements with private institutions ensures that many of the Professional Technical courses transfer toward completing a Bachelor’s program

Articulation Agreements
Articulation agreements create clear transfer pathways between colleges and universities, ensuring smooth credit transfers and admission processes. The North Carolina Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA) guarantees NC community college graduates with Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degrees admission to one of the 16 UNC institutions with junior status, while also facilitating credit transfers within the NC Community College System. Brunswick Community College participates in the CAA and maintains additional program-specific articulation agreements beyond this statewide framework, with detailed information available through OneStop Student Services.
