Forty and Eight Helps Nursing Student Succeed

BCC student, donor, and Foundation Executive Director at a special event

The Foundation of Brunswick Community College Executive Director, Teresa Nelson, had the honor of greeting members of La Société des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux (the Society of Forty Men and Eight Horses more commonly known as Forty and Eight) to Odell Williamson Auditorium for a special event. With her was Rick Sessa of Forty and Eight and scholarship recipient Erin Serkedakis who will graduate with her Associate Degree in Nursing from Brunswick Community College (BCC) in May.

Forty and Eight, an independent, invitation only, honor society of American veterans and service members, is a long-time supporter of BCC Nursing students. Scholarships are awarded annually to outstanding students committed to bringing quality nursing skills to their patients. “It was a pleasure meeting Mr. Sessa and so many Forty and Eight and American Legion members,” said Nelson. “Having Erin there to meet some of the people helping her realize her dreams was a bonus. On behalf of The Foundation of BCC, we thank Forty and Eight and congratulate Erin.”
