BCC Honors Top Students at Honor Society Inductions
Brunswick Community College (BCC) recognized 60 of its highest-achieving students during the 2025 Induction Ceremonies for the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) and the Beta Eta Lambda Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. Held at the Virginia Williamson Event Center, the event brought together faculty, families, and friends to celebrate students representing the top 1% of the BCC student body.
President Gene Smith welcomed attendees and offered words of encouragement to the inductees. Director of Business Programs Ashley Wallace delivered the invocation, setting a thoughtful tone for the evening. Vice President of Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer Dr. Kevin Lee assisted with the induction process and introduced the evening’s guest speaker, Dr. Katharine Kleber, Biology Instructor.
Faculty advisors Sherri Balkcum (NTHS), Sherry Areno (Cosmetology), and Susan Luciani (Phi Theta Kappa) helped present students with certificates and pins. In closing, President Smith urged inductees to remain active members of their respective honor societies—both during their time at BCC and beyond.
Congratulations to all!
