BCC Adds Hewett to Board of Trustees

A highlight of the most recent Brunswick Community College (BCC) Board of Trustees meeting was the swearing-in of its newest member, Zachary Hewett. Dr. Gene Smith, BCC President, and Alan Holden, Board of Trustees Chair, officiated the ceremony.

A native of Brunswick County and West Brunswick High School graduate, Hewett attended East Carolina University (ECU), where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, a Graduate Certificate in Management Information Systems, and a Master of Business Administration.

Hewett has more than 10 years of experience in local government and currently serves as the Village of Bald Head Island’s Finance Director. He is a certified local government finance officer and a member of numerous government professional organizations, including the North Carolina Local Government Finance Officers’ Association and the North Carolina City and County Management Association.

Hewitt resides in Bolivia, NC, with his wife, Dr. Brittany Hewett, and their daughter Brooklynne.
