Brunswick Community College (BCC) proudly honored five graduates of its Practical Nursing (PN) Program today during a Pinning Ceremony held at the Douglas Terhune Center for Culinary Arts.

Graduates Ashley Barkley, Emilee Grant, Vanessa Lawson, Olivia Murphy, and Brei’Anna Wilson were joined by friends, family, instructors, and BCC leadership in a packed house to mark this milestone moment.

Vice President of Continuing Education and Economic & Workforce Development Greg Bland welcomed attendees, followed by remarks from Director of Nursing Shaylene Ball, MSN, RN. The ceremony continued with the traditional pinning, along with the presentation of Florence Nightingale Lamps and flowers, led by Dr. Molly Curry, Dean of Health Sciences, and the PN program’s instructors.

Dr. Curry also presented the Connie B. Milliken Award to Brei’Anna Wilson, recognizing her outstanding academic achievement, clinical excellence, and dedication to compassionate patient care.

The PN program equips students with the skills and confidence to provide nursing care across the lifespan. Graduates who successfully pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) are eligible to become Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and find careers in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and more.

BCC’s Practical Nursing program, located on its main campus in Bolivia, NC, is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
