Meet Your Speakers

Phalandra Squires, Founder & Designer, Stylz by Phalandra
Born in Princeton, West Virginia, and raised in Southport, North Carolina, Phalandra Squires has always had creativity stitched into her story. After developing a love for sewing in her Home Economics class at South Brunswick High School, Phalandra set aside her passion to pursue a career in healthcare—earning her RN degree and serving as a dedicated nurse for over two decades. Her compassion and care for others became the thread that connected every chapter of her life.
In 2016, Phalandra reignited her creative spark, transforming her love for sewing into a thriving business. What began as a few handmade outfits crafted in a spare bedroom grew into Stylz by Phalandra, a local fashion brand known for its bold, joy-filled designs. Even when the pandemic brought challenges, she pivoted with purpose—using her skills to create and distribute protective masks across the country.
Today, Phalandra’s designs have graced international stages, including New York Fashion Week, Middlesex Fashion Week, and soon, the Miss Europe Continental Pageant in Naples, Italy. Despite her growing acclaim and national media coverage, she remains deeply rooted in her community—teaching sewing classes for young girls and mentoring others to follow their dreams.
At her core, Phalandra is both healer and creator—a nurse whose artistry continues to uplift and inspire. Her journey embodies faith, resilience, and the belief that with courage and creativity, anything is possible.
