If your ideal career involves an ever-changing, action-packed workday in service to others, you may want to consider training as an Emergency Medical Technician. It’s a rewarding career with room to advance.

Learn everything you need to earn your EMT credential during this semester-long program. From there, you can get to work with the option of continuing to train for your Advanced EMT credential.

Initial Course

The initial EMT Course is a one semester long and meets for 4-hour classes during the week and on some Saturdays. Weekday dates vary. EMT courses begin in January, June, and August of each year. Training takes place at BCC’s main campus in Bolivia, NC. Register today by following the process outlined below.

“The Brunswick Community College Paramedic program has been issued a Letter of Review by the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP). This letter is NOT a CAAHEP accreditation status, it is a status signifying that a program seeking initial accreditation has demonstrated sufficient compliance with the accreditation standards through the Letter of Review Self Study Report (LSSR) and other documentation. Letter of Review is recognized by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) for eligibility to take the National Registry’s Paramedic credentialing examination(s). However, it is NOT a guarantee of eventual accreditation.”

WHAT CREDENTIAL ARE YOU HOPING TO EARN?

In about two years, you can earn an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or an Associate of Applied Science degree. Many students continue their education at a four-year college or university.
A diploma takes less time (9-18 months) than a degree and provides you with hands-on training and skills in a specific field. You are workforce ready.
If you want focused training in a specific skill or industry in less than one year, a certificate program may be for you.
In less than six months, you train for employment in a specific field or career type, short-term industry training programs are a great place to start. Some programs offer industry recognized credentials.
High School students can accelerate the completion of college certificates, diplomas, and associate degrees.
Complete a high school credential (GED®) that mirrors a public-school credential.
Prepares adults to take the High School Equivalency Test.
