Aviation Ground System
This course covers aerodynamics, navigation, weather, communications, federal regulations, flight physiology, flight planning, and more. Students will prepare to sit for the Federal Aviation Administration’s Private Pilot Knowledge Examination.
Aviation Instrument Rating
This course teaches pilots to operate aircraft in low visibility environments by relying on instruments to navigate the aircraft. Pilots will gain the knowledge needed to rely solely on instruments to navigate the aircraft in situations where they cannot rely on visual instincts. Pre-requisite: Aviation Ground School
Small Unmanned Aircraft
This course prepares students for Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)/Drone flight certification via an introduction to commercial, government, and recreational drone applications. Coursework includes regulations, weather, airspace, human factors and UAS performance. Students will prepare to sit for the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Knowledge Test and NCDOT UAS Operator Permit.
