Apprenticeships
Brunswick Community College (BCC) offers a hands-on, career-focused pathway through our pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs. Designed to equip students with practical experience and industry-recognized credentials, these programs combine classroom learning with paid, on-the-job training in partnership with local businesses. Whether you’re ready to launch your career or advance in your current role, BCC provides the skills and knowledge necessary for success in high-demand fields.

What is a pre-apprenticeship?
Pre-apprenticeships offer high school students a head start in their chosen career field, allowing them to gain valuable work experience while still in school. These paid positions, which can be full-time or part-time, often transition into full apprenticeships upon graduation. BCC’s pre-apprenticeship programs are available in Lineworker, Electrical, and Industrial Maintenance fields, providing a foundation for students to build a successful future.
What is an apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships at BCC allow students to dive deeper into their chosen career path, training in all aspects of the occupation while working as full-time or part-time registered apprentices. These positions offer progressive wage scales that increase as students gain experience and enhance their skills. BCC’s apprenticeship programs are currently offered in the Electrical field, providing a structured pathway to a rewarding and sustainable career.
Benefits for Individuals & Employers
BCC partners with Apprenticeship NC to create meaningful opportunities for both students and local businesses. Apprenticeships empower individuals to develop specialized skills in in-demand occupations, boosting their earning potential and long-term economic mobility. For employers, these programs create a pipeline of well-trained, dependable employees, helping to address the workforce shortages faced across North Carolina.
